A Day Out With Thomas :)

Little man not only recovered thankfully from his fever just in time for our Day Out With Thomas outing, but it was also an absolutely perfect day weather-wise - woo-hoo! :) This event took place at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Flint, and the kids (especially Lucas! ;)) really seemed to enjoy themselves. John and I were very taken with the historic feel of the village, and the friendliness and enthusiasm of the volunteers and workers there - it's definitely a place we will revisit in the future!

As soon as we got there and made our way to the boarding area, we were immediately greeted by this sight :) :
Lucas was a bit incredulous upon seeing Thomas and boarding the coach train. :)

Once the train began moving though, he suddenly realized he was indeed riding Thomas! :)

The coach that we were riding had the advantage of being able to see Thomas when you looked out the window with each bend in the tracks. :)

Lucas wasn't as sure about an inflatable Percy though. :-P

And no way was he getting his picture taken with Sir Topham Hatt! :-P

The beautiful Coldwater Road Chapel was built in the 1800's here in our very own Livingston County and later relocated to Crossroads Village. It is still used for weddings and church services!

Lucas was a bit baffled by the hay maze, even moreso when his big sisters totally bailed on him and took off to find the end themselves. :-P

Train says "whoo-whoo...." :)

OMGoodness the plentiful apple and pear trees at the Village, and we were encouraged to pick and eat as much as we wanted to, can you believe it?! Lucas LOVED the juicy red apples!

The Village was so family-friendly and had so many little Thomas-related activities set up for the kids!


He absolutely LOVED getting his Thomas tattoos!! :)

The Village had this amazing carousel that was built in 1912 - it was beautiful, very antiquated in feel, and man that sucker was FAST...good thing John was holding onto Lucas!! :-P And let me say it was four tickets for $4.00 and the ride was looooooong and totally worth the cost of admission - it beat out a regular fair/carnival merry-go-round any day!!

The Masters Cider Mill has been in continuous operation since 1885 - wow!

Found more apples to munch on! :)

And finally, what's a Day Out With Thomas without a tent full of train tables set up with moving trains? ;))
