The Fowlerville Fair as promised....and photos overload :)

Usually at this time of year, we are up north - but this summer, John is obviously no longer a GM employee :-P, and therefore no longer required to take his summer vacation during their shutdown period. We were excited to finally be able to take in the Fowlerville Family Fair after all this time of living here in Livingston County, we've heard so many great things about it. And it did not disappoint - it was a really nice fair, we loved taking in the local 4-H activities and sights, I got to FINALLY meet my online friend Julie Laakso (who is a totally awesome local photographer and even more adorable in person btw ;)), and the kids had a total BLAST (even if Sophie didn't appear as such in my last blog entry! :-P) We also got to hang out with our nephew Brandon and his wonderful mom Paulette (one of my closest friends :)) who showed up at the fairgrounds later in the afternoon - the girls absolutely ADORE Brandon, and he is SO good with the kids! About the only complaints that I had were that discount passes for the rides were apparently *only* available during the week PRIOR to the fair, so upon arrival, we had to pay full-price for the girls' all-day wristbands (ouch - $20 apiece!), and that there really were not a TON of rides for Sophie's height (but she did enjoy being able to ride the same ones over and over again - the benefit of that all-day wristband, let's just say we definitely got our money's worth! ;)) Oh and that there were like ZERO rides for Lucas :( - fortunately, he didn't quite figure that part out, and could easily be distracted with cotton candy whenever he spied his sisters disappearing on him ;)....but I'm not sure that will work well next year LOL! (although the way this kid is growing, he could very well be tall enough to ride some of the ones Sophie did by then. :-P)

Without further adieu......

No lie....the girls loved this herky-jerky car ride so much, they rode it at least a dozen times throughout the entire day! :)

Brandon and Abby riding the Super-Slide....

What's a fair without corndogs? ;)

Or cotton candy, for that matter? ;)

Check out the blue all around his lips LOL!

I think that Brandon LOVED having Abby for a buddy on some of the crazier rides. ;)

Here is Brandon....is he not a serious Zac Efron (Troy from High School Musical ;)) look-alike? Andrew and Paulette are going to have their hands full when he hits junior high and the girls start stalking him. ;)

Abby was NOT fond of this ride - it was a roller-coaster type-one and Brandon talked her into riding in the FRONT car :-P :-P, she said after she got off that she would not be riding it again LOL. ;)

My little heartbreaker - with major sweat-head going on here LOL! :-P

The last attraction we caught before heading home was Farmer John's Barnyard Express - the kids LOVED this, it was a great educational program about farm animals and living on a farm, and Farmer John was an engaging presenter/speaker. Plus his dogs were AWESOME! :)

This is his Border Collie Pal drinking milk mid-air as it is expressed from one of the goats. :)
And my boy who thought that might be a fun thing to try too! ;)

And that's it folks! :)
